When Rainbows Hospice  developed its Remembrance Garden we approached Caltef Designs with the idea of a memorial tree. Caltef engaged with our brief and  the idea of a large corten steel memorial tree emerged. This tree would accommodate glass leaves with the names of children who had died.

Caltef was bold and inventive. Their skills in engineering and construction allowed for a significant structure which sits at the centre piece of the garden. Despite its size there is a sensitivity in the sculpture which reflects the space beautifully. 

Feedback form bereaved families has been positive. The team at Caltef listened to what we needed and produced a bespoke sculpture of significant merit. I would strongly recommend their work and their humanity.

We cannot thank everyone at Caltef Designs enough for the design and installation of the striking Remembrance Tree at Rainbows Hospice.  

Their creativity and design engineering produced a life-sized Corten tree for bereaved families to hang personalised glass leaves to remember their loved ones.

Will and the team were a delight to collaborate with, were sensitive to the brief and the Hospice's needs, and have created a lasting memorial that really is the heart of the new garden.
